Carbon graphite for mechanical parts are carbon graphite materials used as structural components in various machinery, including various graphite bearings, graphite sleeves, graphite bushing, graphite sealing rings, graphite piston rings, graphite sliding plates and graphite brake friction plates. According to different production processes, mechanical carbon graphite products are mainly divided into 7 categories:

(1) Carbon - graphite

(2) Electro-graphite

(3) Carbon and electro-graphite impregnated with resin

(4) Metallized carbon and electro-graphite

(5) Carbon - graphite material with resin as binder

(6) Metal-graphite material

(7) Flexible graphite material

 

Mechanical carbon graphite products can be used in the temperature range of 200 ~ 2000°C in the corrosive medium, and at a high rate of movement without lubricating oil and normal work, they have self-lubrication, good wear reduction performance, high thermal conductivity and heat shock resistance, low coefficient of linear expansion and good machining performance. Mechanical carbon graphite products are mainly used in the following 5 occasions:

(1) Where the temperature is very high and the lubricating oil decomposes and evaporates, or where the temperature is low and the lubricating oil freezes;

(2) Contact with organic solvents to dissolve lubricating oil occasions;

(3) Occasions where oil is required to avoid or contact corrosive chemicals to make lubricating oil deteriorate or corrode;

(4) Occasions where ordinary ball bearings cannot be used on high-speed running machinery;

(5) Shaft seals of various high pressure and high speed turbine machinery.
